In Matthew 6:1-4, Jesus didn't mince words about this:
"Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven... But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly." (KJV)
The Danger of the Public Stage
When we turn giving into a public spectacle, we trade an eternal, heavenly reward for a temporary, earthly one—likes, comments, and views.
True discipleship isn't a branding campaign. It's a heart posture. When you flash your generosity to the world, you've already received your reward in full.
